Cholesterol is a type of lipid (fat) that is found in both the food you eat and in your body. your body uses cholesterol to create hormonal steroids such as testosterone and estrogen. Cholesterol also helps digest food and plays a key role in the structure and function of our cell's membranes. Every single on of our cells in our body is protected by a semi permeable membrane, which allows only some nutrients to pass through, while others remain outside.
Although our bodies need cholesterol, it poses a threat health if not monitored. Cholesterol can cause Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Myocardial Infarction (heart attacks) and High Blood Pressure.
